Just 500 Properties and yet United Response see the benefits of GIS

United Response are a charity organisation providing support and housing management across the UK, supporting young people and adults with a range of mental health needs and disabilities.  Currently they support 501 individual properties whether these be owned by themselves or leased or managed.

Michael Corfield from United Response, had seen the advantages of having all data within a GIS during his previous housing senior management roles and was therefore aware of the benefits GIS could offer United Response.

Initially the 500 plus Property Points were captured and geo-referenced enabling their locations to be displayed in the mapping application (GISMO in this case).

Through their GIS Managed Service, United Response are able to visualise their properties on a map along with other data such as Indices of Multiple Deprivation, Health data and more.

Michael commented “Even though we only have 500 properties here at United Response, GIS helps us to manage the properties more efficiently and make informed decisions”
